Our 4th grade students and their pen-pals thoroughly enjoyed the 2013 Pen-Pal Brunch on Tuesday, May 21st. The Pen-Pal Brunch is the culminating event for the Fourth Grade Pen-Pal program that began in October and ended with the brunch.
Throughout the year eighty-one senior citizens corresponded with a fourth grade student who was their pen-pal. The students and pen-pals corresponded back and forth about five or six time throughout the school year.
The senior citizens who participated gave wonderful feedback to the Fourth Grade Pen-Pal program coordinator Mrs. Danielle Madision. They indicated how much they love the program between the school and community. As one senior so eloquently stated "It provides a great opportunity to bridge the generation gap."
There was a great turn-out for the brunch. Sixty-three of the eighty-one seniors were able to attend and enjoy the brunch with their student pen-pals.
Following the brunch, the students had an opportunity to show off their artwork by taking their pen pals on a walking tour of the art show throughout School #2.

Congratulations to Mrs. Madison, the seniors and our students for a job well done!
