On Friday, February 10 the students of School #3 gathered to celebrate “Warrior Pride” at their annual Pep Rally. Mr. Meyer and Ms. Karpovich spent several weeks preparing the students for the rally during physical education classes. Each grade level of students learned dances based on different genres of music. Ms. Karpovich and Mr. Meyer worked together to coordinate the grade-level dances.
In addition to grade-level performances the Southampton Cheerleaders kicked off the Pep Rally by showcasing their award-winning routine that pumped up the crowd!
Students in each grade showcased their dance moves by taking to the gym floor and dancing to hip-hop music in 6th grade, pop music in 7th grade and Latin music in 8th grade. The students’ performances along with performances of their grade level teachers who lip synched to music from each genre were judged and scored. Eighth grade took home the victory this year!
Videos of the Pep Rally including some practice clips are posted on our Southampton School District Facebook page.
“We are so proud of all the students for their hard work and participation,” says Ms. Karpovich. Ms. Karp and Mr. Meyer also wanted to give special thanks to Mrs. Bertulis who helped to choreograph the grade-level dances.
