Congratulations to Mrs. Gina O’Brien and Mrs. Kim Bray who were honored at March’s Board of Education meeting as February’s Employees of the Month.
Mrs. O’Brien is a paraprofessional in one of School #1’s Kindergarten classes. Mrs. O’Brien was nominated by Jennifer Matthews who said, “Gina is truly an asset in the kindergarten classroom.” She goes on to say, “She is invaluable.”
Mrs. O’Brien was “totally surprised and extremely honored.” She has been in the district for 18 years. Sixteen years she spent in the preschool program and this is her second year in kindergarten. Mrs. O’Brien said, “I love coming to work every day and seeing the smiles on the children’s faces.”
Mrs. Bray is a 3rd grade team teacher in School #2. She was nominated by Ron Nober who said, “Kim is being nominated because she is great example of someone who goes above and beyond for her students as well as her peers.” Mrs. Bray also made ribbons following the Parkland school shooting to honor those who lost their lives.
Upon receiving her recognition, Mrs. Bray said, “Thank you for nominating me Employee of the Month. I very much enjoy working with such a wonderful staff. It is because of the many opportunities I have had to work in different classrooms that I am continuously blessed with new ideas and a fresh attitude.”
