The New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) released the 2013-2014 New Jersey School Performance Reports for every school in New Jersey on January 30, 2014.
Each School Performance Report provides a significant amount of data to present a comprehensive picture of school performance. with the aim of assisting schools and stakeholders engage in local goal setting and improvement. Among others, this includes metrics at all grade levels to identify the extent to which students are demonstrating skills and behaviors indicative of college and career readiness. NJDOE has established statewide performance metrics, and also includes the newly defined progress targets for schools and subgroups.
In addition, the reports include a peer school comparison for each school in the state, comparing schools with similar grade configurations that are educating students with similar demographic characteristics such as free / reduced lunch eligibility, limited English proficiency or special education program participation. The data provides information about how similar schools are performing on a similar performance indicator to help identify strengths and areas for improvement.
The 2013-2014 NJDOE School Performance Reports focus on metrics in the areas of Academic Achievement, College and Career Readiness, and Student Growth (Measures performance of students from one year to the next on the New Jersey Assessment of Skills and Knowledge.)
Levels of performance for each area are indicated as, Very High Performance, High Performance, Average Performance, Lagging Performance, and Significantly Lagging Performance.
The Southampton School District is pleased to report that all three of our schools achieved either a Very High Performance or High Performance in each the NJDOE Performance Areas.
